Modem
« on: September 23, 2005, 09:53:13 PM »
My modem is failing to initialize. It is connected, and should work, by all means. I've tried connecting a regular phone into the phone line, and that works. I get a dial tone. Same with the wall jack. So, what could the problem be?

Thanks,
Megan

Have you recently used it during a storm?
if not,
are your drivers up to date?

Can you get into termian mode (Hyperterminal or some other program?  If so type in:

      AT  (enter)

      ATO  (enter)

      ATH  (enter)

What are the responses? WHat kind of modem? Is it a WInModem or a real hardware modem?
