dos screen

I turn on the computer and it gives me a dos screen saying start in safe mode, start windows to the last time you exited and restart windows normally i try all of these but it comes back to the same screen  >:( what do i do

Have you tried using the Recovery COnsole on your XP CD?

    Does it immediately go back to that screen or does Windows start then the next time you re-boot it goes back to that screen?
