With mains power, high resistance connections don't blow fuses, only short circuits blow fuses.

With mains power, neither high resistance connections nor short circuits blow PSUs.

Only a mains power surge can blow a PSU or a short circuit on the secondary side of the PSU.

Of course a PSU can die from old age, more commonly known as insulation breakdown.

If you don't know the answer, it isn't a dumb question.

        chuckles
Its all just theory anyway. The first time you accept it as fact, something blows up in your face just to make a fool of you.
chuckle turns to curses as small explosions erupt from motherboard
If you don't stand for something, you'll fall for anything.
