    What is the question?
    Are you saying this?
"Windows 7 works better than Windows XP. Why?"
Well, MS just made it better, that's all.

What "scanning option" are you referring to?

If I want to scan a document, I start the scan via the software installed for by AIO (All-in-One) unit.  The icon for it normally stays in the Hidden Icons box.

I believe you'll probably have a nicer interface with your scanner by using the software that came with it instead of Windows Fax and Scan.

You should have asked "What is the equivalent to XP's Scanner and Camera Wizard in Windows 7" instead of asking about "activating" the scanner and how the "scanner starts automatically", both of which require elucidation.

"Scanning" has many definitions when it comes to computers. You didn't ask a specific question, so you didn't get a specific answer.

Next time, I'd suggest being a bit more clear in what you want to know.
