Mouse destroyer

 :o  Hi, anyone know why my pc eats any mouse i connect to it?  Take a perfectly good mouse, connect it and hey presto it stops working....Have tired mouse on other pc before and after.

I assume you are using PS/2 mice?

If yes, are you connecting these to the correct port. PS/2 Mice (green) and not PS/2 keyboard (purple)?

So, once you plug in the PS/2 mice, start the computer, remove the mice, they no longer work on other computers?

And how has this problem first occured?

Have you damaged the mainboard or PS/2 connector?

its a pc some one gave me, far as i know it was a fault that occurred out of the blue.  Have looked at main board and there is no signs od physical damage

    If the PS2 mouse port is damaged, you can get a PS2 to serial adapter and hook the mouse up to the serial port. It might require a different driver, but windows should detect and install a generic driver for it.
    If you don't stand for something, you'll fall for anything.
