Whenever I open a new tab it shows the 6 most popular sites I've visited with Firefox 14.0.1 (based on browsing history I suppose), and with Internet Explorer 9 it shows the 10 most popular sites.
How do I get it to show my 'Homepage' when I open a new tab (Goggle Search in my case)?
As always thanks for any help.  :)
Mike

I don't have IE 9 and don't use IE 8 much but for FireFox:

    - Know or copy the url address of the page you want to open with the new tab
    - Open a New Tab
    - Type about:config in the address bar then press the Enter key
    - Click to accept the warning
    - Type browser.newtab.url in the search box
    - Right click on the result browser.newtab.url and select Modify
    - Type or paste the url address of the page into the box
    - Click OK

If you want to change it back later, follow the above steps but when you right click on browser.newtab.url select Reset instead of Modify

Good evening lectrocrew and welcome back to CH

To change the New Tab Page

If you’d rather change the New Tab page entirely, click the gear button on the far right of the window and select Internet Options.

Click the Settings button under the Tabs section of the front tab on the Options dialog.

Click the drop-down menu under When a new tab is opened, and select what you want to open when you create a new tab.  You can choose for IE 9 to show a blank tab, your home page, or the new tab page as before.  Click Ok to save your changes, and you’ll see your new settings in action the next time you open a new tab in IE 9.

Please let us know how you make out and I Hope this helps you in making your change, Mike

Statement of the day.  The IT person asked. What kind of computer do you have and the customer replied a white one why?
