Font Deleter

Hi guys!

Say, doany of you know a really good font remover? I have got 'AMP Font Viewer'  and 'Font Explorer Lite' and niether of them are doing a good job with these Windows 7 fonts???

Do you just sit at home and think up these questions? Why do you need to remove fonts?

One could conceivably even do the unthinkable and use the built in method for deleting fonts which is to right click them and delete them in the fonts folder, accessible via control panel.

You could even instigate a lot of good times and fun for all by deleting the various system fonts, what considering they are used by the system.

I assume of course that you are deleting the system fonts since you said "windows 7 fonts" which means they were installed with windows 7. There isn't a special "windows 7 font" format, you've got raster fonts (fon, fnt), Truetype (ttf) and OpenType. That's pretty much it.

Hi ya bud, I am not trying to un install any of the system fonts, I know this is not wise, it is the load of other fonts that seem to find their way in that concerns me my friend!   A heck of a lot of programs automatically install fonts without any 'buy your leave' in the matter.    I am a bit of a 'Fonts Buff', if you like and I like to have (with the exception of the system fonts) my own choice of them, as much as is possible.  Thats all, no big deal!         See the rubbish here, that need to go!  (Please don't tell me they are ALL system fonts ... there are simply stacks of them here and they are all crap!

Those are all installed by default with windows 7.

If you really want to delete them, Use the font control panel. I already noted this. It will almost surely cause problems with your applications, depending on which ones you use, since a good number of them are used for various UI features. (Some people decided that the Marlett Font was useless and found themselves in a pickle when a good number of UI components were totally screwy.)

Nobody wants to mess around with the 'System Fonts', if they have any sense, I know that, but there are a *censored* of a lot of these on my machine right now, along with a stack  that I am sure are not system fonts.     

We are told to keep our fonts trim, if we want to have fast loading times,(being that all these fonts have to be read and installed at every boot)!   Every jack program throws a bunch of fonts at you on installation and if you want to keep a fair selection of 'decent' fonts, for youself,  as I do, you are well up the creek here and no mistake and I still haven't found a decent font manger yet!

I've got a better idea. Don't sit in front of the system and time every boot. What possible difference does it make how long the boot time is?

I havent seen my machine boot in over 2 years...i hit the button and go get my coffee...

To me it's a non-issue...

Just curious, how many fonts do you have installed now?  I have 238 in my Win 7 system.  I've never removed any fonts.

Font's only cause problems if you have tens or hundreds of thousands of them installed.

Just to let you guys know that 'Advanced Uninstaller' is a great gizmo fella's!     Fonts are no problem with it and it has a great number of multy-funtions. A MUST for anyone cleaning out his (or her) machine.   I recommend it my freinds.!
