Encrypted files from OLD LAPTOP. Recovery?
    « on: August 30, 2012, 12:29:09 PM »
    Hi,
I recently removed my oldhardrive from a laptop that stopped working and I can access the files that are not encrypted but all my music is encrypted and I cant access them. Does anyone know ANY way to access the files that are encrypeted?

    HHHHHHHHHEEEEEEEEEEEEELLLLLLLLLLLLLLPPP PPPPPPPPPPP :'(

How do we know this is really your hard drive and really your data? This is asking for cracking advice, isn't it?

You dont? I just really want my 1000's of songs back after I destroyed my old Vaio laptop. Is there a way?

If you have used Windows encryption, you may as well give up. That data is gone, if you don't know the password.

I have the Old account password?  Are the encrypition keys not stored on the hard drive somewhere?

Yeah they are music files that I used iTunes to play.

If you move the files to a new computer (which is what you have done) you need to authorize that computer on iTunes.

Its not that, i cant physically move the mp3 files off the hardrive or add them to itunes off the hardrive. I get a permissions error, only some of my music files are marked as encrypted, those without the encryptions i can move, copy and add to itunes fine, its just the ones that are 'encrypted' i can do sweet FA with. Anymore ideas, did itunes do this to the files on my old computer?

If the files are encrypted there's nothing you can do.
