Blackberry Tablet
« on: September 11, 2012, 07:30:20 PM »
Since the story of me being nominated for MS MVP I've been receiving calls from strangers to repair their computers. I had one call last week from a fellow asking me to set up his Blackberry Tablet to receive the internet. He has fibre-optic hi speed and I tried to connect the tablet with no luck. I took the tablet home and was able to access my wireless network with no problem. At his house, it only wants to connect to Wi-Fi. Does anyone have any ideas what's happening here?

Good evening SuperDave and welcome back over to this side ;D

That is great news for you nominated for MS MVP. That is great news and you deserve it.

But on to your question this link my help you http://helpblog.blackberry.com/2011/07/how-to-connect-your-blackberry-playbook-tablet/. But your BBP does his place have a wireless router like the one that version offers to fiber customers?

Or maybe his wireless on the router is not enabled ?

Hope this helps, Mike

PS I wish your the best and that is great news once again. Enjoy  ;D ;D
Statement of the day.  The IT person asked. What kind of computer do you have and the customer replied a white one why?

Thanks, Hartbeatmr. I've tried all those things with no joy. His wireless is enabled because his laptop is working and I even tried my notebook on his internet. It was so simple to connect at my home but it's not the same type of modem. This tablet has really got me riled up and I'm not a quitter.

Thanks but I have no problem connecting to Wi-Fi. I just walked up the street to a coffee shop and could connect from outside the building. Here at my home I don't have Wi-fi but I was able to connect to my wireless modem with no problem but I can't connect to his wireless modem for some strange reason. Why one modem is ok and the other is not.

I did see the distinction you had made in your original p[ost. However given that one of the links relates to an altering of a specific parameter i wondered if by doing so that could alter the access.truenorth
