    Help with new PC!
    « on: October 25, 2012, 04:36:27 AM »
Hi there. I'm new here so didnt't really know where to put this but here goes. I recently bought a new PC (3.0ghz, 1tb HDD with 8gb RAM). I didnt buy an operating system with it because I was sure I had a disc laying around from my old PC with Vista on it. I now cannot find this disco so am left with a PC with no operating system. I have Windows 7 on an external hard drive so is there any way I could boot that operating system from the external hard drive. I turn it on and all I get is command prompt as expected telling me to boot my operating system. If this is not possible will I be better just burning the iso to a disc then trying it that way? Thanks in advance. Sorry if this is in the wrong place.

All versions since XP will not boot from an external HDD...This is by design.
