Two network cards
« on: October 03, 2005, 05:04:35 PM »
OK i made my new computer and the ASUS A8n-SLI deluxe came with two ethernet cards. Is it possible to use both cards with a router to get a faster or more stable connection? Because i tried just plugging in two ethernet cables from my router and only the one that i plug in first gets used.

PLEASE HELP?

One nic card should be enough...........that why a router is used unless you need to network your system......save the  other one  for another pc....

KP:

No, you only need one to connect to your router.  The other may be used to connect directly to a network printer, or to another computer (via a crossover CAT5, CAT5e or CAT6 cable).  However, since you have a router, this is not necessary.

Use the second card as a spare if the first one dies.

Best regards,
