Following an automatic windows 7 update when I turned off my PC, I am constantly getting Startup Repair loading whenever I turn it back on. When I turn my PC on, it comes up in white text that windows is loading the files, and as soon as it reaches the Microsoft Corporations screen, it goes into the startup repair. Startup repair gives me the following information, however fixes nothing:
Problem Event Name: StartupRepairOffline
Problem Signature 01: 6.1.7600.16385
Problem Signature 02: 6.1.7600.16385
Problem Signature 03: unknown
Problem Signature 04: 21200286
Problem Signature 05: AutoFailover
Problem Signature 06: 30
Problem Signature 07: CorruptFile
OS Version: 6.1.7601.2.1.0.256.1
Locale ID: 1033
I have tried booting it in safe mode, however it takes me straight over to startup repair.
I have also tried to do a system restore, however it fails giving me the message:
System Restore did not complete successfully. Your computer's system files and settings were not changed.
Details:
System Restore failed to extract the original copy of the directory from the restore point.
Source: %SystemRoot\registration
Destination: ComPlusStaging
Also, I did take a look round command prompt and attempted a few tutorials using the chkdsk commands, and my hard drive is 'Healthy' and 'Online'.
I'm currently working on trying to get another windows 7 disk, but in the meanwhile, can I do anything without it?
