Deleting a file being sent in Outbox in Outlook
« on: October 05, 2005, 12:30:10 PM »
A file that is too large is stuck in my outbox.  It won't let me delete it as it says it has started to send.  It has been trying to send for a few days and I just want it deleted.  Help?

Use a firewall to block Outlook Express or the incoming/outgoing packets.

Once the E-mail client tells you the sending has failed, remove the E-mail from the query.

Firewalls
Use both a hardware and software firewall.
Be advised as dual software firewalls may cause problems

ZoneAlarm Free
-- Free firewall - more user friendly
Sygate Personal
-- Free firewall - more configuration options

Close outlook Express. Then look for the outbox.dbx folder and delete it. When you reopen Outlook Express it will produce a new outbox.dbx

Had the same problem a few weeks ago.
