laptop battery on Window xp dries out much faster then on windows 7

Hi,

I have a laptop, where i installed windows7, the battery lasted for around 3 hours, but i removed windows7 and installed windows xp on it, now the battery is lasting only one hour
is that any way that i can do, a software to install, so that i can get 3 hours for battery on windows xp ?

It is more likely that in the install of xp something was installed or a parameter was altered that is causing your issue.What was on the computer as an O/S prior to the win 7 install?truenorth
