One question

I know that computer resolution is defined in pixel (dot per inch).

How is it related to resolution like 800x600 or 1024x768 pixel?

1) Does 800x600 mean :

There are 800 dpi horizontally?

2) the icons are big for shorter reso,  why??

600 per inch vertical.......then old system was lines as in tv......405/625.....as for the icons.........how do iput this......the smaller the screen the smaller the dpi......the bigger the screen the bigger the dpi.... video >balance<

My eyes must be good, I can count mine.  

Try 800 total from left to right and 600 total from top to bottom. (Pixels, not dots per inch)

If you increase it then each Pixel must become smaller to still fit on the screen, so if each Pixel is smaller then it is only logical that each icon displays smaller.
