    Problems with servlnk.exe
    « on: February 13, 2013, 06:34:51 AM »
I permanently deleted servlnk.exe from C:\Program Files\Your Own Screensaver and now, a popup window constantly appears saying than Windows cannot find servlnk.exe and after a few minutes, the whole screen crashes, saying that Windows has encountered some kind of error. Now, the computer is only usable for 10 minutes. So, I'm beginning to suspect that deleting this file has something to do with it. I really need help in solving this problem.

    Start the PC in safemode...
Open Task Manager and turn off the service running by the same name.
Then locate the file in search and delete it again.

Also, was this a screen saver that had to be installed (as opposed to just copying over one file)? If so, REINSTALL it and then uninstall it using ADD/REMOVE

Thanks patio - I should have done a quick search, but very short on time these days.
