    Startup problem
    « on: February 16, 2013, 04:28:32 PM »
    Hi
I am hoping someone can help me with a problem I have at startup.

    I am using Vista.

The machine boots up perfectly and displays the desktop but before I am able to do anything, everything dissapears leaving only the wallpaper which is then replaced by a completely white scree. The cursor is still visible and operating on the white screen but nothing happens.

    Thanks

    Geoff

    1) What is new or different since the last time everything worked properly (ie, new hw, new sw, virus, error, etc)?

    2) Please boot to safe mode and run full scans with both your anti virus app and MalwareBytes

    Well, obviously something changed.
I'd first do a System Restore to a time before the problem occurred.
That should be done Immediately, when a problem arises.

Over 90% of the time, that fixes the problem.
