Sorting in Explorer/TC

Hi,
I have a little problem with sorting files and folders in Explorer or TC.. For 5 years i got system of sorting by date and type (folder or file). That means when I for example downloaded file to my download folder it was the first in list. So from top sorted by date files first and then folders (also by date) under the files. I just needed to find one file by size and now i couldnt retrieve my previous settings. Any help?

Should be able to select View with Details. Then click on the Date Modified tab, top of column of files and it will sort ascending (oldest to newest) or decending (newest to oldest) with each click of the Date Modified Tab.

I have tried this already, but folders are still prefered instead of files.. With this solution folders come first then files.. I need it other way. Files sorted by date and then (after all files sorted by date) sort all folders by date (bellow the files)..

That order can't be changed that i know of...it's always folders 1st...

Im afraid it is somehow possible, because it was like that in default (and im not reinstalling whole pc just because of this).. anyway thx for trying help me

SOLVED!! right click-> properties -> adjust (or whats the name of the last tab)-> optimalize this folder for: common items (again not sure if it is best translation)
