Error code: 0x8007045d = CD/DVD Write Error

After 2yrs of successful operation of my Sony VAIO VPCF13Z0E, running Windows 7(64) it has started showing the above error when writing to DVD's of different type and manufacture. These same DVD's are then written too succesfully on my son's Win7(64) VAIO. New drivers for DVD have made no improvement.

Optical drive is heading South...time for a replacement.
These days if i get 3 years outta one i consider it fortunate.
