how to successfully reset a droid without cell phone service
    « on: March 13, 2013, 05:01:38 PM »
I have the first DROID I by motorola. Someone else used the phone before so I want to erase all the data and reset to factory default. From what I understand, after you reset the droid it needs to download software or whatever. I heard you dial(actually call) a number to do this. However, like I said I do not have cell phone with the phone. Is there like a way I can do this via wifi or sdcard?

    thanks

Yes that is it, perhaps I should of posted an image before. The directional pad and the design of the keys give away that it is the DROID I rather than the DROID II or etc.
The DROID II did not have a directional pad.

I have found one way to reset the phone - touch every corner of the screen in a clockwise fashion. This will omit activation of the phone and bring you to the home screen.
If you can find any other methods, post please.
