    Hi There,

    I need a script which backups the entire operating system.

    I am new to Linux so dont really know much about it.

    So any help will be helpfull!

    Do you really went a script?  External hard drives are a good way to backup almost nay OS, including Linux based.
    But if your prefer, there are many backup programs for Linux. If your are new, a list of them all would just overwhelm you.
    I would recommend reading this:

    The above explains the difference of using either a program or a script. Nothing wrong with using a script if you want. It is hour choice.
    A script controls the operation of some programs(s) that do the actual backup.So you may have to download a program recommenced in the article.  Please read over the article I posted above. And come back here if it seems to be too much.

      I was looking for back up software as well and this sounds a great suggestion. Thanks guys!
