I don't quite understand the problem.

Are you saying that you can no longer create a new folder when right-clicking the desktop? (i.e. the picture below)

This should solve your problem:
http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/w7itproui/thread/9ee6ecdf-5958-4af4-b640-c659ada57bc4

hmmmm, what a time!  When I go here to directory all there is  this  default REG_SZ (value not set) and Content Type REG_SZ and application/x
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Directory\Background\shellex\ContextMenuHandlers\New\

then I tried this    So people - simply click the following link and run this Create New Folder fix OK!

Link: http://www.vistax64.com/attachments/tutorials/7715d1225832927-new-folder-newfolderfix.reg

Don't worry, it works in both Windows Vista and Windows 7 and will fix this issue instantly. I would also suggest, that you store the file on the hard drive and link to it for a few days, just in case the create New Folder option does a disappearing act on you again.

but could not get it to install.  brain too tired to deal more with it now  gotta hit  the sack
