I get taken in by TSRs alot. I look for free screensavers and wind up with these whirly-gigs that sit on my desktop and really worm up my computer. I know not to run these things, however I keep thinking that some where....ah yes, that place...there is a really K***A**
screensaver place. My question: is it overly dangerous to toy with these weird programs at the "free"sites?? :-/ :(
What a long, strange trip its been...

With a reasonable level of updated protection you should be OK.

Spy-Bot acts funny...it removes all the gunk, but says that I must restart for it to remove acouple of programs that are in memory, and when I restart, it does the same thing again?? :-/

When spybot asks to run at startup, it attempts to do scan BEFORE any nastys get loaded into memory. Allow it to complete the scan. You should also run ad-aware. Each program has its own strengths and one will often find and eliminate something that the other doesn't.
If you don't stand for something, you'll fall for anything.
