At first when I read it I was like what... about large databases, but reading this sentence more carefully a second time I saw that it was for "storage of large databases" so it becomes a read-only archive for massively large databases in a small package.

If they could make this Read/Write it would be really cool. For the fact that CD's and DVD's started as a 1 time burn and then they made RW disc's, I am sure someone will come up with a genius way to make a Holographic Drive with RW capabilities. For all we know they could already exist and be used secretively by the national defense. It would be a very fast way to read and write large amounts of data and not take up much space, although I still think that SSD's are faster.
