    « on: July 21, 2013, 07:48:35 AM »
Well idk why my laptop suddenly has this problem where my Display driver stops working.. it was Nvidia GE___ (i forgot) it kept crashing my com within 1min so i had a complete system restore, now that i installed a new display driver(shown below)

    Windows 7(32bit)
    version: 8.16.11.8691
VGA(Graphics), NVIDIAVGA(Graphics), NVIDIA Help tooltips : This driver is NVIDIA External Graphic.

i've still been getting blue screens as well.. i don't know how to solve it, it mainly crashes when i watch videos.

i got a picture of the bluescreen but i can't upload it due to the size..

    Download BlueScreenView:
    http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/blue_screen_view.html
unzip downloaded file and double click on BlueScreenView.exe to run the program.
when scanning is done, go to EDIT - Select All
Go to FILE - SAVE Selected Items, and save the report as BSOD.txt
Open BSOD.txt in Notepad, copy all of the content, and paste it into your next reply

Well, you're correct the problem is the video card. From where did you obtain the driver?

With laptops it is always best to obtain drivers from the manuf. site...

Okay. Please look in Device Manager. Are there any yellow or red symbols? If not, and if you are certain you have the correct driver for your display adapter, then it's possible the display adapter itself is going bad.

The chat room has no direct relationship with the forum and I do not trust ANY advice given in chat. However, assuming that is the correct model of your laptop in this case it seems the advice was correct. My guess is that the display adapter is failing. For now, you can completely uninstall the driver and reboot. Windows will use the generic driver.

Additionally, it may be worth trying a complete clean install of your graphics drivers, perhaps try the latest version from Nvidia of those provided by Samsung aren't working too well.  The Samsung ones are 4 years out of date.
You can download the latest drivers here - when installing, there's a check box to perform a clean install, ensure you check this and reboot after they're finished installing.  It may help, it may not - it could well be that the adapter itself is failing as Allan says in which case no software solution will help.

The driver you listed above is an external driver...so most likely the incorrect one...re-visit the Samsung site for the proper one.

An external driver?  It shows up if you head onto the Nvidia site and narrow down the search by the exact model in the laptop.  Under supported products, the G105M is listed.  I suggested getting them from the video chip manufacturer as the blue screens persisted with the Samsung provided driver.
