Save Installer Folders
« on: August 10, 2013, 06:43:55 AM »
So I'm looking at what's taking up space on my HD, and I have about 8GB in c:\Windows\Installer.

Most of the folders are what named after what seems to be a combination of the registry location, my 1988 Chevy Beretta's VIN, and a certificate generated by the Lektor machine. (eg, {7FXDABCC-1U1E-4D61-907D-BA2195175774} )

Do I need these? Does Windows continue to need the installer files, or is that just something that bloats and never erases?

Thanks
Dan: You're gonna need to get someone to fix my computer.                     Kim: What's wrong with it?                     Dan: It's in several pieces on my floor.

If all installed apps are running fine they are not needed.

As far as I know they are.

If something goes pear-shaped, I always have backups.

(And if everything goes au pair shaped, who cares about the *censored* laptop, anyway?

Thanks for the help.
