why can't i connect to the internet when i'm away from home?
    « on: January 17, 2014, 12:07:51 PM »
I used to be able to, now i can't.  Don't know enough about internet connections to know what I did or didn't do to cause me to be unable to connect when i'm away from home.  It's for my laptop.  When i'm at a place, such as Starbucks i go through the connection process and it says i'm connected but when i try to go to any websites it won't/can't connect.  Any ideas?

    Which browser are you using?

If you go to command shell and enter IPCONFIG what information is displayed and IP address numbers for the wireless adapter? Most importantly is the Gateway IP, as for if a gateway IP is not present then you have no outbound communication path to the internet.

    Starbucks
Most now have a new policy about internet use.
As the shop manager for help.

BTW, the Starbucks at Las Vegas CES  is sowing off a wireless charger for your iPhone.
Charge you iPhone while you drink coffee.
