Hi. After thinking my backlight inverter needed changing I went ahead and bought a new one. But after I removed the bezel I noticed that there were red/orange cables loose from the plug on the left side. The white plastic of the plug also appears scorched or kind of burnt.
What I would like to know is if I can re-secure the wires and how?
It is a Toshiba satellite L100-109.   Many thanks :)

Ps, attached a photo. Hope it helps.

I sorry I'm a complete novice. I'm pretty sure it goes to the motherboard.  Thanks

If it is the one that goes to the motherboard, then the complete cable can be changed and a replacement is available in spare parts shop. Just tell them the laptop model and you can buy one.

          Hi

It would be easier to get someone with heat shrink and a soldering iron to extend the yellow wires and and replace the pin in the socket. The cables are make and model dependent and can be difficult to replace.

Most electronics shops are able to do this.

I too thought of it. But later on I thought even if it is done, depending upon the professionalism and proper work done, the bracket of the LCD panel may not fit and there may appear a lump which will disallow the panel to fit properly. Leaving a gap between the fitting.
