    System Restore
    « on: April 01, 2014, 03:09:53 PM »
I have tried to restore my computer to an earlier date. I use the restore system on my computer and after a few minutes, a window appears which states " System Restore did not complete successfully and your settings were not changed.
It could not access a file due, probably to an anti-virus program running on the computer. Temporarily disable your anti-virus  programs and retry System Restore."
I run A.V.G. and Malware bytes on my computer. Please how do I disable these programs? Any help would be appreciated.

In both of them it's under tools/options...

No, you do not delete them. You simply disable them.

The OP may wish to post again on the virus removal forum. Some kinds of malware do interfere with the system restore.

First we do normal troubleshooting, then we think about the possibility of malware.
