Ho can I transfer files from PC to Android?

Recently I prepared some files in PDF and I would like to read them later while away from my desktop PC.  I have an Android tablet with version 4 of the Android  OS. It has both Wi-Fi and Ethernet connections. And a USB and SD slot.

I can use the SD slot, but in the future would it be easier to transfer files directly over my home network?
I found this article, but I am a little slow to understand what they are telling me.

DropBox or OneDrive work great for this.  If the PC and tablet both have Bluetooth, that's another easy way.

Look into an app called AirDroid which allows you to transfer files back and forth.

Thanks to both. I found Drop box on Google Play. Will give it a try.

Definitely Dropbox is essential for transfer and sync from anywhere with Internet connection.

Also SwiFtp is good, use Filzilla on the PC.

FTP is a fast file transfer protocol, and well proven.
