    PC Cant Find Bootable Device
    « on: June 01, 2014, 12:47:17 PM »
Yesterday I started running into a problem where my Screen would freeze for a while and then shuts down. When it turns back on it goes to the bios and says "no bootable device detected."

I go into my bios boot menu and check and boot option 1 is disabled.

If I restart my computer everything works find and the boot option is there and everything is fixed but it happens on a regular basis. Can someone please tell me what is wrong with my computer and if I can fix it. Thanks.

Boot option 1 means nothing to us here as we can't see the PC...
Whats the entire list of the Boot menu options and how many drives are in the PC ? ?
Also what happened prior to this ?

It can't enter the OS in whichever it is stored either in HDD or CD. It is either disconnected or hidden. ;)

I have 1 optical drive and 1 HDD. Nothing has happened prior to this, I just built the computer last week.

            Replace the CMOS Cell.

I see that both your boot options are set to UEFI, try the non-UEFI alternatives and see how that works.  There is also probably a key you can press at startup to let you select a boot device rather than having to set it in the BIOS.

While that could be an issue, it is extremely unlikely in this case.  The machine is brand new and has the drives set in the boot selection menu, it's not like it is "forgetting" settings.

I already tried changing it to justify and it wont boot up at all if I do that

Disconnect all other HDD's and unneeded USB devices except for the HDD that has the OS installed...powerup and see what happens.

Enable the first boot priority. Set it to BIOS Legacy boot mode and choose HDD as the primary or first boot sequence. Save and exit and see if that solves the problem.  8)
