Rame does not match
« on: October 31, 2005, 07:41:22 AM »
I have 256 M RAM on my Dell P3 machine.  When I bootup, the first screen (black with white letters) says I have 128 M RAM.  Once Windows ME boot up,when I go to control panel, system Hardware, the screen shows I have 256 M RAM.  I seem to be having low memery errors lately.  Thoughts?

One of those RAM chips is possibly not seated properly...i find it interesting that the BIOS does not recognise the correct amount and WinME does.

Aren't computers fun ? ?

Are you perhaps sharing 128MB with your videocard? If that is even possible for Pentium III machines..
