HUGE Display on Monitor

Trying to resolve the black horizontal lines on my monitor.  Thought I followed all directions listed in "Monitor Help".  Poked this and that.  Didn't fix lines (suspect a new monitor needed), but my display is now HUGE.  I poked around some more, but as my screen name implies, I haven't a clue.

type dxdiag in the run box......and check ......system it maybe you have not loaded the right video drivers......also check the res........to 800x600     to do this /right click on the desktop then properties tab......then settings tab/ then adavanced tab......it should read 16bit high colour......and 800x600......try a move the slider......

Try another monitor with this computer and then try another computer with this monitor. Let's reduce the variables to find a solution.
