    Formatted sd card.
    « on: November 25, 2014, 06:00:24 AM »
    Hi all

I have a strange problem with my SanDisk 128GB card.  I formatted it to NTFS using the Command Prompt.  Now it wont mount up in my tablet.  During the formatting process I got the message "Data error (cyclic redundancy check)".  Is this the reason why it wont mount up?  My tablet supports NTFS access.  A 65GB NTFS card mounts up OK.  A 128GB FAT32 card mounts up OK.  I've tried formatting the conventional way e.g. right click drive>format>NTFS but I get the message "Windows was unable to complete the format".  Any help would be appreciated.

      Hi there

Thxs for your advice.  My pc has only one card reader slot.  Is there any other hard/software that can format to NTFS?  I don't know what the "cyclic redundancy check" means.  Is there a problem with formatting a 128GB to NTFS?

CRC errors mean the 2 devices arent reading in synch...
Not sure about NTFS but i dont think it's used for SD cards...

Just to add to this...if the tool doesn't work it could be the reader itself has gone bad...hence the suggestion to try on another PC.
