    How To Copy CD?
    « on: December 21, 2014, 10:10:56 AM »
I have a CD containing MRI results that I want to make a copy of. I have a Dell Inspiron 660S running Windows 8 and can't find info on how to make a copy. Can anyone help?

You might have third party software on your computer that will do this.  New computers often have one or more programs installed that will burn discs.  For example, my HP Pavilion Notebook PC came with CyberLink Power2Go Media Suite; it can be used to create copies of discs.

However, I believe you can also do it via Windows File Explorer.  With the disc in your DVD drive, open File Explorer, right click on the DVD drive (should be under This PC), and choose Burn to disc, and proceed.  The first step in the procedure is creating a file on the hard drive so that the source DVD disc can be removed and a blank disc can be inserted.  Then, you should be able to continue with the actual burning to the new disc.

Right clik the file and report it's properties and file extension...

This comes up about once a year here and if i remember correctly the file cannot be viewed without the proprietary software the MRI machine uses...

In most case they are just pictures that can be viewed on any system. However, the question was how to copy the disc and that can be done with any disc copy software.

It has come up in the past and that is my recollection of the end result...

I found Power 2 Go hidden in my apps, used it and successfully made a copy. Thanks to all!
