its a real old banger...in london terms..what was loaded on it win3.1....do you have another hard drive?if so use it..by the time we are all finished your pc will be the top of the range..ghiax  turbo i pc  2 drive  sliding doors for cd/s with a/con fans   and central heating even bg may want it...maybe this post ...needs to be re-post to refresh newcomers and all...this problem will be solved...its something silly............thats causing this..

That is a real old system, you would be better getting a new one.
Sounds like bad RAM. I would save my money and just get a low cost new system - they will be far better than that old Pac-bell
