    What to buy?
    « on: November 08, 2005, 01:37:17 PM »
    Hi,

I want to build myself a computer. Could anyone please tell me the list of hardwares according to their popularity?

Or please show me link to go. We may have here in Computerhope.com but where?

Because I want to know the most used and famous parts to buy them.

    Thanks.

I figured that'd hit the spot, Peccavi.

Why do you want 'famous' hardware and what do you mean by that?

There's no such thing as 'famous' hardware. If you're looking for hardware people often use, turn to Dell. They supply a lot of people and companies.

Put a mobo at the top of your list.
Then choose a video card from the same manufacturer.
          ASUS is good.  :)
          MSI is bad.  >:(
          ANTEC PSU.  :)
          INTEL CPU.  :)
Get an oversized case for better cooling if you have the room for it on your desk.
Others may help you on HDDs, my WD has been OK.

Why'd you pick a videocard from the same manufacturer?

          That severly limits your choice.

But then again, that coming from an Internet Explorer user (spits) it doesn't surprise me.  ;D

              Thank you guys,

You know guys, as I mentioned before I am working it for others also. Sometimes I am asked to build a PC with all parts best ones.

Another time for the best CPU and other parts not important.

Yes, RAptor I need that list of parts which most of the people prefer much. I mean their rating.

So I can compare their price and reliability etc

              I had sth like : http://www.tomshardware.com/

But anyone else has else suggestion you are welcomed :)

There is no such list anywhere to be found on the Internet that is supported by the majority of PC users.

You're just going to have to read a lot of reviews and compare specifications.

                Thank you.

Raptor , what do you think the site I suggested above. Please have a look and see if it tells anything useful in this topic.

I never visit that website. I never visit any websites related to the latest products.

If I want to buy something, I google for the product to check the specifications, and if any reviews come with it I might have a read.

I do not build PCs for people either, I just recommend Dell. Can't be bothered with the risk attached to building your own system for someone else.

Unless you can get the parts at a very low price, I wouldn't bother. If just one part breaks or is DOA and the company you ordered it from refuses DMA, then you've lost any profit you would have gained from selling it.

And you can't easily increase the price of your machine without going above those of Dell.

Well, that's just the way it is here.
