    Sound Issues?
    « on: March 13, 2015, 05:21:27 PM »
    Hello,
Im having trouble with sound whenever I want to watch something on my laptop. I have checked sound settings and everything seems okay
I have normal sound with general things such as notifications but when I watch something the sound just goes. I have used VLC and Windows Media Player and both are doing the same thing.
There is sound but it's extremely quiet and I can only pick up loud noises, the talking is barely audible
If anyone can help me I'd really appreciate it! thank you

Have you gone to advanced audio properties and made sure that the levels are set correctly. Last time I saw a similar problem to this it was a level that was set low in the advanced sound properties.

There area number of things that might go wrong. More details about your system are needed. Has this been a recent change?  Was it always this way?

What make is the  laptop? Does it work alright on headphone?
Microsoft has many articles about rep[ported sound problems.

Tips for fixing common sound problems

    Does that help any?  :)

Thanks so much to the both of you, I have a HP laptop with beats audio and some of the levels on the beats audio settings were low, no idea how it happened since it had been fine previously, but all is fixed now :)
      thanks for the help!

Did you figure out what caused the low volume?  Was it caused by you accidentally pressing the f-key that decreases volume?

i have no idea honestly! you're probably right, it was fine previously and then suddenly the volume dipped, so I must have hit a key accidentally and not realised, I like to watch films in the dark so I prob hit the wrong key due to it being so dark (and being too lazy to turn on a light lol)
