instant housecall 4.6

I was looking around for something to help out family members and found instant housecall 4.6. It says it is free on Major Geeks, but is it a good program. I know there is a paid version, but is this free version good enough to help with that panicked call from auntie?

Major Geeks is a very reliable source of software.  Their description of the software seems to indicate it will serve your purposes well. 

An alternative is TeamViewer, which also can be used for free for personal use. I've used it and keep it installed in case I get a request from a relative.  I have not used Instant Housecall but it sounds like a good program.
