Emergency Alert on Cell Phones.New Concerns.
« on: April 07, 2015, 05:37:29 PM »
Emergency Alert on Cell Phones has been around for awhile. But now there are some new concerns about the usefulness of the national system.

In the USA and other places there is an Emergency Alert System that warms local residents of a threat or crisis. Sadly, many do not understand how this works. Some do not like it.

The technology is already in place to have your PC, Tablet or Smartphone get  alerts over wireless network. Some TV sets also have this.

Here are a list  of recent items about the Emergency Alter in the USA.
Who makes the decision to send emergency alerts to your phone
FEMA to conduct statewide test of Emergency Alert System Wednesday
People upset over cell phone Amber Alert.
White Cloud losing tornado warning siren
Anaheim to participate in AlertOC drill on April 7
Wireless Emergency Alerts FAQs - Verizon

I hope this will help make more aware of the system. There was a tornado alter in my area today. Got it on the cell phone.
Do you get alters in your area?   :)
