I need advice (PATA interface)

Hello guys,
I need to write my contribution for PATA interface for my seminar project.. I am really confused with what can I contribute. I tried with comparing PATA interface with SATA interface but that wasn't enough  . Is there any one who can help me with this and give me advice I would really appreciate that.

Briefly outline what you have already done. I doubt if anyone here is willing to do your homework for you, (that isn't that kind of "help" we do here) but you might get some pointers and suggestions for how to get, and present, the knowledge necessary. What sort of level is this?

Hey,

Maybe you didn't understand me.. I don't need someone to do this task for me just need suggestion, as I said i need suggestion for contribution in PATA interface project. etc. How would I change PATA interface to make it even better. Between I am first year of an college and we didn't work in this area much but we need to write seminar for it and it need to have some kind of contribution.. I read few book about it and done that project.. just need to have "my own" contribution to that project.

I described what's PATA interface, how PATA works, versions of PATA and what are their speeds and other specification. Difference between PATA 40 conductor cable and 80 conductor cable. What devices uses PATA interface to connect to each others. What is master-slave relationship and how to setup jumpers. I explained what every of pins do. And I have PATA VS SATA analisis.

At first is was not called PATA. It was called IDE and it was very different from what came before.
Did you already read what is given on  CH?

This link below has well over 100 references. Look at all of them, if you can. There was nothing simple about introducing a new interface for hard drives. The introduction of the ATA or IDE was revolutionary and still impacts the grown of the industry. You should be able to  do 100 pages documenting the history of  ATA /IDE.

How would I change PATA interface to make it even better.

Instead of jabbering about the history too much- actually look at it. In particular, observe the changes with each Revision from ATA-1 through ATA-7. What was improved with each revision?

ATA itself moved to a Serial interface because it was more reliable. Could a theoretical ATA-8 be improved while still using Parallel connectors? How could this be accomplished, and how would issues such as clock skew be addressed further when they start to affect the 80-conductor cable?
