Dell monitor in power save mode
    « on: June 06, 2015, 10:03:29 PM »
    Hi There,

I have a Toshiba laptop which I plug a Dell monitor into via the HDMI port. All was working fine until recently when the monitor suddenly went into power save mode. Seems my laptop isn't sending any msg to monitor. I've tested both monitor and HDMI port and both work fine with other devices. ie monitor plugged into pvr and TV plugged into hdmi. any help would be great.

Try installing video driver again to see if that will fix it. Maybe the video driver got set to generic and so it no longer had HDMI support. The driver can be downloaded from Toshiba's website or the OEM of the GPU. If this doesn't fix the problem then maybe the HDMI jack got damaged on the laptop such as it was tugged when something snagged it and broke a connection with the main board.
