Programs won't open

I downloaded spybot last night and it will not run.  I double-click, the hour glass comes up for a second and goes away and nothing will happen.  I have found this to happen on a few other programs.

Which operating system are you using? When did all this start? Have you made any changes to your system recently? Do you have virus and Spyware protection?

Your title, "Programs won't open" seems to imply that more than one program won't open... However, in your post, you've only mentioned SpybotSD...  Are there other programs that don't work?  Also, as Flame said, give us some more information on your system and some background to this problem.
