operating system not found

Laptop is TOSHIBA Satellite C55-A PSCF6U-01Y00C

Am on Windows 8.1


Any time I restart and my usbs are pluggd in,  after the Toshiba logo comes on, I get  - operating system not found, try disconnecting any drives that don’t contain an operating system.   Press any key to restart- and when I press Enter it goes to the desktop. If my  usbs are not plugged in ,I do not get the message.


Strange that the computer repair where I took it for another problem  about two months ago and this problem started said they did not know how to fix it.

Sounds to me like it is set to boot to USB 1st...

Have someone who is familiar with the BIOS to change the boot priority to HDD 1st...

Thanks but know of no one who can do that.  Guess it is one of the F keys?

I would seriously ask around as there's the possibility that if you change the wrong thing the PC will no longer boot...

Thanks but I do not know anyone that computer literate and if the computer repair where I had taken it said they did not know how, do not think any of my buddies would know.  When I have time will try taking it back to the computer repair place as maybe they know more by now.
