need to bypass administrator
« on: November 12, 2005, 09:06:17 PM »
Hi, just got a Toshiba Satellite Pro from a friend who didn't need it anymore.  Gave me his user id and password to access administrator rights, don't work.  Can't get a hold of him anymore.  Great computer sitting around when it can be put to good use by my daughter.  Can anyone help?

What version of Windows and do you have the official CD to reinstall if this can't be done?

Reformat.

You're going to need a valid license to make use of Windows XP, anyway.

If you have another XP machine, create a reset password disk. Check windows help for how to.
If you don't stand for something, you'll fall for anything.
