Can't set monitor resolution

Recently, I loaded CD label creator software - when I used 1st time, my computer shut itself off.  The error message said it was related to an intel driver for the program and I downloaded an update.  '

This did not fix the problem, I have since removed the software and the driver patch, but now my problem is the monitor resolution is stuck at the minimum level and can not be changed.  

Any suggestions?

Does this computer have an onboard graphics or a graphics card. Reinstall the graphics card and the driver.
