    Windows 10 Supporting Issue/Error
    « on: August 01, 2015, 02:47:37 AM »
    Hi,
My operating system is Windows 10 Home, it used to be Windows 7, and my PC is 64bit, and my computer is a Gateway.

I just got Windows 10 installed on July 30th, for my PC. Well, just a while ago I have kept getting a error message that says: This Operating System Is Not Supported By This Application. On the left hand top side of the message it says Gateway. I'm assuming it's the title of the error message or maybe it could be referring having something to do with the Gateway PC. For the record I have not at all clicked on any my applications to get this error message. This error message appears on it's own. And this upgrade to Windows 10, was/is compatible with my PC. I have gotten a reservation, in the beginning, then on July 30th, my Windows Update started, downloading, and then installing Windows 10 with no problems. My files are backed up as well.

All in all, hopefully this is a small issue that can be resolved quickly, and easily. I look forward with working with anyone here and hearing from anyone here to help resolve this error message. At this moment or anytime soon, I would not look forward rolling back to Windows 7. Nothing wrong with the previous Windows, but if need be, I will have no other choice but to go back to Windows 7, if nothing here works. Hopefully like I have said before that will not be the case.

Some questions. This can help ID the problem.
    What model of Gateway?
    How old is it?
    Which version of Windows 7?
    Was it pre--installed?
    Have you contacted Gateway?

If it were me, I would tool back to Windows 7 and wait until MS or Gateway finds a fix. If this is a common issue, they will respond.

It could be that the issue is only with that unknown program.

Thank you for responding. I appreciate it.

This morning I have in small part as you said (tool) rollback to Windows 7. However I also installed again Windows 10, after going back to 7. Thinking that would help. It turns out that now the error message popping up is no longer showing up on it's own. Before it be every 5 minutes or so when it would appear. It appears  everything is now corrected.

Would you still like for me to provide to you the information of my Gateway computer?

Anyways, Thanks for the bit of advice you have given me. :) I'll keep that in mind should, anything out of the ordinary occur again.

      Yes.

It probably a Gateway bloatware app that's no longer needed or functional.

      Acer now owns Gateway.

My Gateway Computer was boughten around 2007 or 2008.
It's the first edition of windows 7, Service Pack 1
It was (Windows 7) pre-installed when i bought the PC at a Best Buy
I never need to Contact Gateway before.
I am not one hundred percent sure about the model number but my Gateway is a DX4300

        I hope these informations helps.
