    Weird overlay on Phantom Pain
    « on: September 05, 2015, 07:29:36 PM »
So, I've been playing the Phantom Pain and mostly everything runs great on my rig, buttery smooth framerate at max settings. The occasional pop-up or loading hitch, but mostly great.

So, this is the forth day I've been playing, about 30 hours in, and when I load it up, I see this weird overlay over the shadows and/or black areas.

I'm actually at a loss, I've never seen this before on a PC. It reminds me of the lines I would get on my old SNES back in the day.

I seems to come up randomly, so restarting often corrects it, but I'd like to never see it. Any ideas why this is showing up at all? I've attached a screenshot and my DxDiag.txt.

Thanks in advance for any help or even just speculation on what makes things like this happen

Looks like a Graphics card issue. Either starting to fail, overheating, or a driver bug.

I don't know what graphics options are available but if possible you can try disabling Ambient Occlusion as well.
I was trying to dereference Null Pointers before it was cool.
