New Bug In Intel Skylake CPU
« on: January 12, 2016, 04:47:27 PM »
Hot news. The Intel Skylake has a bug.

This is the latest, greatest thing Intel has been promoting. Only recently have some developers got samples. Here is what they say...
How to test  for the Skylake bug

Intel says:
Intel confirms bug with Skylake CPUs

So, can I get one for free?  :)

It's a bug in the microcode, so it can be patched with an update relatively easily. Should be a lot cheaper than replacing the Pentium FDIV chips.
I was trying to dereference Null Pointers before it was cool.

As far as I'm aware the fix is being integrated into BIOS updates.
