    I have a gateway computer that is not powering up fans come on but nothing on screen

    What model is it? How old is it?
    Did you make and changes to the hardware?
    Has anybody else been something on your PC?
    Your user manual has a troubleshooting guide. Have you tried what it says?

      it model number gm5664 no changes have been made to it,about 7 to 8 years old, nobody else on has been in it

      I suggest you try an external display. If the fans come on and it sounds as though it is powering up, let's rule out (or in) a faulty display.

        Then there is a problem with either the laptop display or the cable connected to the display
